A vase of daffodils

Crochet decoration that not only your eyes will like, but also your heart :)
Crochet Daffodil - Pattern

The Day of Daffodils is coming, so I thought it would be a great idea to crochet my own vase of daffodils. And the other reason for preparing this pattern is that we are having a beautiful spring :)

What we need:
  • green and yellow yarn
  • hook (mine is 3.5 mm)
  • something to stuff the middle part of the flower and a longer and bigger toothpick to make the stem straight
  • scissors, needle
  • stitch marker

What we should know before the start:
  • magic ring
  • crochet in the rounds
  • change colours
  • not be afraid of the result :)

Abbreviations:

mr - magic ring
sc - single crochet
hdc - half-double crochet
dc - double crochet
inc - increase
st - stitch
slst - slip stitch
ch - chain

Pattern:

STEM AND ITS LEAVES (green yarn)

1. start with 4 sc in mr (4)
2. crochet in the rounds, each round should have 4 sc, the number of the rounds is up to you, if you want to have a long stem, make more rounds
3. inc in all st (8)
4. *inc, sc in next st* repeat (12)
5. *3 ch, 1 slst in the second ch from the hook, 1 slst in the third ch from the hook, 1 slst in two next st* repeat - now we have 6 leaves
6. crochet in the round before to create a base for the yellow part of the flower - 1 ch, crochet sc to have 12 st altogether

FLOWER (yellow yarn)

1.  *1 sc, 7 ch, 1 sc in the second ch from the hook, then in next stitches crochet 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc in next st * repeat - altogether we have 6 flower leaves that are set in between the green leaves
2. crochet in the round before to have 12 sc altogether, crochet in the rounds, we should have 5 of these rounds, slst
3.  *3 ch, 1 sc in the second ch from the hook, 1 sc in the third ch from the hook, 1 sc in next st * repeat, slst

We stuff the middle part of the flower, then we close it with a circle made of 6 sc in mr (we sew the circle to the middle part of the flower). We hide yarn in the stem. We use the toothpick for the stem to make it straight.

And that is everything :)

Happy crocheting!
